T O P I C R E V I E WTykeanautSeveral years ago I managed to get hold of a space-version of Monopoly. At the time you couldn't buy them outside of North America. But I was pretty lucky as I had some English friends who were then living in North Carolina, so they 'smuggled' me one out.Don't often hear about them or see them for re-sale. Anyone else got one? garymilgromThese come across eBay from time to time. Here's a friend with one. dss65Some family members got together a year or two ago and bought one for me for my birthday. It was at an auction for a very worthy charity, and it included three signatures each from Bruce McCandless and Mike Coats. It is currently hanging on the wall in my office. (The rest of the set is in a box at home.) It's really pretty neat, and I'm glad to have it. I have no idea how "rare" it is.TykeanautThere are two new ones currently on sale at Amazon.com for $349.50 each!! dss65Holy smokes, maybe I'd better take it off my wall!Robert PearlmanPerhaps of interest, the space shuttle shape player's token that was created for this version of Monopoly has been flown aboard the real space shuttle. One hundred (100) of the tokens were carried aboard STS-126 in November 2008. An additional 200 -- 100 per flight -- were flown on STS-129 in November 2009 and STS-130 in February 2010, respectively. The tokens were carried on behalf of Space Center Houston and at least some (if not all) of those flown on STS-126 were embedded in lucite such that the miniature shuttle appears to be floating above the Earth. The acrylics are used as awards and VIP presentations.ilbasso quote:Originally posted by Tykeanaut:There are two new ones currently on sale at Amazon.com for $349.50 each!!
